Hi All,

Been a long time since we posted news. We will try to make post news more often.

Legends of the Wulin is in Stores now. We are considering making a kick-starter project to produce more LOTW supplements.

Nobilis / Jenna Morran has finished writing the expansions for Nobilis, including Antithesis and Chiboes. More on this in the coming weeks.

Proof Completed… really REALLY going to print

Its been a while coming. There have been some setbacks. Thank you fans, for waiting patiently.

The final proof of Legends of the Wulin has been accepted. We are telling the printer to start the press. If there is no other problems, we will be mailing the book in 20 days to the pre-sales edition customers.

There was a review in Nuclear Power back in late January which I didn’t see. There will be more reviews when the printed book hits the shelves. The reviewer loved Legends of the Wulin so much…I had to put a link to it here.

Also, there is a cool wuxia webcomic there called “How I killed your master.” It reads like a LOTW Story.

Speaking of when the printed book will be sent… our printer had delays related to Chinese New Years; we got the proof today. If everything is looking as we designed, we should be able to start production run next week. I will update everyone on the status next week.

Closing online pre-sales at 22:00 Beijing time

The Pre-Sales of the Legends of the Wulin was supposed to end last week. However, we extended this a few days because our online-store had technical difficulties. Today will be the last day to purchase the pre-sales edition. Direct sales of the book will resume about 3 weeks after store-front stores receive the book. Sales of the PDF will resume when the book ships, about a month from now.

Our website was down for two days and our e-commerce site was down for a few more days than that. Everything appears to be working now. Because it was down for most of last week, we are extending the Pre-Sales period to this Friday, January 13th.

In other news, the new (and hopefully last) version of the PRE-SALES edition Legends of the Wulin has been uploaded and updated to DrivethruRPG. If you already ordered the Pre-Sales, you should have received an email today notifying you of the latest version.

There were a few changes to the rules, in order to make them more clear. The most important changes are outlined below:

14	Malicious Joss	”Malicious Joss reduces any opposing Lake rolls made against you this round by 1 die per point. Opposing rolls are those which are immediately rolled in relation to your own; an attack against a defense, or an awareness roll to counter your stealth. If some timing issue would ever threaten to bypass Malicious Joss, it instead provides bonus dice to the user just like Chivalrous Joss.”
177	The Shaping rules	Shaping actions are made during the initative roll using an extra set, working as a Wave. Apply a skill bonus or improvise an Internal kung fu technique, gaining a +5 bonus per point of Chi spent, up to a maximum amount of Chi equal to your highest technique level in that style. Being a Wave, your result is not defended against by an opponent but they can possibly break your Wave before it finishes. Depending on the action you’re trying the Sage may require you to meet a certain minimum difficulty level.
179-180	The descriptions of Disorient, Disrupt, and Knockback	With the Sage’s permission you may instead defend yourself with a skill bonus if it makes sense that its use could protect you.
194	Improvised Weapons	”An improvised weapon doesn’t have the normal bonuses to combat statistics that normal weapons do, but they still retain any other abilities associated with those weapons. If the ability requires you to Flood a die from your River then you must pay 1 Chi in addition to the Flooding, to temporarily strengthen and guide the improvised weapon. (E.g. improvising a Ranged weapon with a thrown rock never has the +5 Strike bonus, but it can attack into adjacent Zones, and it can also attack further away if you Flood one die and pay 1 Chi.)”
212	The Boost cost under Holding Yin and Yang	You can boost this technique for an extra +5 Strike or +5 Damage per point of Chi.
216	Crow Eclipses the Sun	”You may boost this technique after the attack is resolved by before any Rippling rolls are made. If any part of the attack manages to hit and apply Ripples, you may pay 1 Chi per Ripple to delay their application until the end of the round. Until then, any immediate Rippling rolls or other effects simply ignore them.”
228	Quick Work	”This is normally the only way to utilize Secret Arts in combat time.”

The EOS store is down due to technical problems. We are working on fixing this. Hence, we will extend the pre-sales period for Legends of the Wulin by a few days after we fix the web-store. When we go back-online with the store, we will start direct sales of Nobilis as well.

New Download for Pre-Sales LOTW, and Other News

Everyone who purchased the Pre-Sales version will receive an email today notifying you that the Legends of the Wulin PDF has been updated. This is (hopefully) the second-to-last update before going to print.

The main changes are:

Assorted typos and formatting fixes
Inclusion of PDF-reader readable Table of Contents and changed to 1 page per PDF page for easier navigation
Changed some content mistakes (such as made Secondary Attacks more readable, noted the regeneration of Special Chi, and a few others)
Resolution now 150dpi so that the 5-star chart is more readable.

Because we increased the resolution, this file is now about twice as big as before. After all content and typos are fixed by the first week of January, we’ll also make a lower-resolution version for slower machines, as well as an epub version.

In other news, we added a link to the Un-official LOTW wiki in the Community page.

Legends of the Wulin Pre-Sales Starts Today!

We are happy to announce that Legends of the Wulin pre-sales starts TODAY… and will last until the end of December. The pre-sales version can be purchased in the EOS Store. Additionally, a pre-sales PDF-only version is be available at DriveThroughRPG.com.

Legends of the Wulin special pre-sales book will include a complete, downloadable PDF version of the game, available immediately after purchase. We intend to make an “ePub” version available for pre-sales customers, but this will not be available until beginning of January. We will also insert into the book a small poster art from Li Chang (the LOTW artist), signed by the himself, and the writers: Arik Ten Broeke, David Ramirez, and Jerry Sköld.

The pre-sales price will be $65 (includes international shipping). Regular retail price will be $44.95, but does not include extras (PDF, signed art, etc). We offer a pre-sales “bulk” price of $60 for purchases of 4 or more in a single order (in a single “shopping cart”). The pre-sales PDF-only version is $29, available at DriveThroughRPG.com.

We will airmail out Legends of the Wulin pre-sales version to direct to customers in approximately 45 days after the the pre-sales period ends.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
-As of 12/15, when you place your order through the EOS store, we are using PayPal as our payment gateway. The account on PayPal will be shown as rsean@cs.jhu.edu. This is the PayPal account of Ms. Jenna Morran, author of Nobilis and partner of EOS. We are using her account to process the pre-orders because of a difficulty initiating our EOS Corporate PayPal.
